Stellantis N.V. is a multinational automotive manufacturing corporation formed in 2021 on the basis of a 50-50 cross-border merger between the Italian-American conglomerate Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the French PSA Group. As a crown jewel of the portfolio with historical SUV pedigree, Jeep is recognized worldwide by its seven continent grill design and popularity from the iconic Wagoneer and Wrangler to the latest 3rd row Grand Cherokee.

02. The Challenge

The majority of Stellantis dealerships showcased Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram with equal spaces. To help differentiate the Jeep brand, Stellantis launched a new branding program of CDR+J, which creates a wood-grained Jeep exterior to promote differentiation and increase brand appeal. However, needing a faster and more economical solution that could be applied more uniformly to all dealerships, Stellantis wanted a concept to differentiate the Jeep showroom using an arched Gateway of similar wood grain appeal to the new Jeep branding. The Challenge, how do you create an architectural element that is consistent in finish quality, while customizable for each showroom environment? The unit needed to be repeatable and usable in multiple different building types and structures; meaning it needed to be light weight. To make matters more challenging, installation needed to be quick and showroom disruption minimal.

03. Our Solution

AGI worked with Stellantis on a solution to rebrand the interior portion of their dealerships to highlight and delineate the Jeep Showroom with an on-brand gateway, clearly communicating the Jeep experience when customers enter this dedicated space.

We designed a modular interior Gateway that provided legacy image locations with an on-brand solution to provide greater brand awareness, visual differentiation and enhanced Jeep experience with a woodgrain, rugged look. Each site is custom designed and engineered to ensure a seamless fit and maintain Brand standards.

The AGI team worked with our dedicated engineering team to develop a fully customizable, modular approach using light weight, prefabricated gateway elements that assemble and tie in structurally to the existing building framing.

Having a pre-fabricated unit gave our team the ability to cut installation time from multiple weeks to only a few days. Furthermore, by going with a prefabricated unit, we eliminated significant architectural and engineering expenses as well as the requirement of using multiple trades.

04. Results

AGI created a dedicated on-line portal to streamline ordering and provide aggregate program reporting and metrics back to Stellantis and CBRE.

AGI handled all dealer engagement from initial sales consultation to full end to end project management, including a streamlined process such that most installations are completed in less than two days, resulting in a highly cost-effective solution and the highest levels of dealer satisfaction Stellantis has seen with a program of this scope. This is evidenced by the fact AGI has been selected in over 80% of all projects, even as one of three approved nationwide vendors.

Thanks to AGI’s solution, the first Gateway installation was completed by AGI 4 months from design approval. Within one year of this first installation, AGI has upgraded nearly half of the nationwide Jeep dealerships and is on track to deliver the remainder on target by the end of the year, totaling over 250 dealerships.
